About
About us
The Islamic Center of Ventura County was established in 1993 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated exclusively to serving the needs of religious education, charity, and the practice of Islam within our community.
A devoted and humble group of eight Muslims worked tirelessly, guided by the blessings of Allah (God), to establish a small facility for rent in the heart of downtown Oxnard, CA. Weekly meetings were convened every Sunday to reach out and invite more Muslims to the center, resulting in a substantial increase in attendees. The center now features three prayer rooms and three restrooms equipped with Wudu (Ablution) facilities. Its primary mission is to foster unity between Muslims and non-Muslims, providing an opportunity to educate all about our faith and way of life.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all those who have served on the board in the past, as well as those who generously volunteer their time. We would like to seize this opportunity to express our gratitude to our donors, supporters, and community members for their unwavering help and encouragement, and we eagerly anticipate their continued support. Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) has bestowed this facility upon us, and we humbly urge everyone to join us for daily congregational prayers and actively participate as contributing members of our community.
Vision
Our vision is to inspire both our current and future generations to cultivate an enduring relationship with Allah (God) by fostering an environment characterized by constant remembrance of Him and the application of the values exemplified by the prophetic model.
- We envision a community that draws wisdom from the timeless principles of the Qur’an.
- We envision a community that nurtures its devotion to Allah (swt) and His Creation.
- We envision a community that recognizes our children as the guiding lights of future scholars."
- We envision a community that takes a leadership role in guiding other communities towards the pursuit of knowledge and spirituality.
- We envision a community that actively observes, shares, and cherishes our blessed months.
