Jumu’ah (Congregation prayer on Friday)

A Full Jumu’ah service is offered every week.

English Sermon begins at 1pm
Khutbah (Arabic Sermon) followed by Salaat (prayer) begins at 1:30pm


Friday is the most virtuous and noble of days, this worship has been specified for this day.


Adab (Etiquettes) of Friday service in the Mosque

Once the khutbah commences, it is necessary for all those present to listen attentively to the khutbah.

Recommended Etiquettes

  • Purifying and cleaning oneself
  • Dressing well for Salat-al-Jumuah
  • Reciting Surah al-Kahf
  • Going early to the Masjid
  • Going to the Masjid in a state of calmness and not being hurried.
  • Walking to the Masjid whenever feasible as there is a reward for every step taken to the Masjd
  • Performing tahiyyat al-Masjid (The prayer of greeting the Masjid)
  • Sitting in the front rows and close to the Imam whenever possible.
  • Reciting Durood (sending salutaions) upon Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)
  • Remaining quiet while the Imam is delivering the Khutbah. This actually includes listening to the Imam and not playing with anything while the Imam is speaking.

Do not engage in any worldly activity between the khutbah and the prayer.

Please refrain from:

  • eating
  • drinking
  • talking
  • walking
  • power naps
  • making salaam/answering to a salaam
  • Avoid stepping over people or dividing those who are sitting together
